RESURRECTION CHURCH
OUR PASTOR
Our pastor is Rev. Philip Carr. He has attended Indianapolis Baptist High School, Indiana State University (Evansville, IN), Morehouse College, and Beulah Heights Bible College. Rev. Carr preached his initial sermon at Liberty Baptist Church in Evansville, IN, on August 9, 1981. The topic for this sermon was "A Gift of Love" (John 3:16).
His current pastorate is Resurrection Church, which he organized on June 3, 2004. The first worship service was held on June 6, 2004. His sermon was "The Best is Yet to Come" (1 Peter 1: 3-8).
Rev. Carr is married to Sis. Darlina Carr.. They have one daughter, Philicia Carr, and two grandchildren, Aaliyah and Iliyjah.
OUR CHURCH
Jesus said, “…upon this rock I will build mychurch; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”(Matthew 16:18) In April 2004 the LORD charged Reverend Philip Carr to plant a new church in Newnan, Georgia.
Faithful to HIS word, found in John 11:25, the LORD has raised up a ministry which is truly a place of new beginnings. The first Worship Celebration was held on June 6, 2004 at Ellis G. Arnall Middle School on Lora Smith Road.
The Lord blessed the church to move into their second property, and current meeting location, on May 5, 2013. The church continues to look for ways to use the property as a means of providing economic opportunities for the church and community.
The Lord continues to bless our membership as we grow in love and wisdom.
